Trail Blazin'

This was a fun shot to make.

I positioned myself on a farmer's bridge that crosses the motorway. Facing the direction of Manchester Airport, I set my gear up in time to catch an aeroplane taking off. You can see the trail in the sky - it looks like a shooting star.

Workmen had just layed traffic cones to cut one lane off so I wanted to also capture the car lights reflecting off them too.

I love the amount of detail and vibrant colour in this image that I was lucky enough to capture. There are indicator lights on the left, the traffic cones, the aeroplane trail, the blue and green lights from a passing lorry on the right hand side and the orange glow in the sky coming from the street lights of the next village.

I think this image shows how busy our motorways can be in England but also how interesting they can be made to look. Zoooom!
